Aaliyah Haughton made headlines in 1994, when she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a number. Her album, which was released when she only had 15 years of age it went Gold. The album was part of a group that was greatly in the style of R. Kelly and it brought her into the limelight. In 1996 she worked together with Jermaine Dupri as well as Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which included the top-rated hit song If Your Girl Only Knew. Aaliyah gained international recognition as an R&B performer with their release of the sophomore album One in a Million. She starred with the legendary martial artist Jet Li in the 2000 romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die. She is born of Indian heritage and was born Connecticut. The stage name Mann is derived from her marriage name Mankad. Aarti has both Aarti Majumdar and Aarti Munn for her professional names. Though she initially had small TV and movie roles, her acting started becoming more popular in the middle of 2000s. Some of her other notable work are Leverage 2012, Suits 2013, and Grey's Anatomy 2017. She's appeared in many commercials for Volvo's international automobile producer. Her daughter is a resident of Los Angeles and is pursuing acting.
