Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style which combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. She has appeared on stages all over the world, from Broadway through the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine is a name that she has given her is Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta currently, she is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she began her career as a musician, singing and playing at the church in town. Her music career started in Atlanta in Spellman College. The Fighting Temptations The first single featuring her voice was called Stalk You which was a house 12-inch released only in Japan and has since been remixed by numerous producers and is the mainstay in her live show. She also lent her voice to the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005, she was employed to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the stage production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition during her four daily performances at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.
